Make sure to rince non-organic food well

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) recommends people to thoroughly wash any non organic fruit or vegetables to was off pesticides and other chemicals using in their growing. Researchers found residues of these chemicals in 68 per cent of the fruits and vegetables they tested, including some which have been banned. Residues were also found in produce made from fruit and vegetables, including baby food. Residues found here included organophosphates known to cause neurodevelopment problems.According to a report by xxxxx the cleanest fruits you can buy are onions, pineapples and sweetcord, with apples having the most pesticides, followed celery and peppers.

The EWG produces a Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce, listing the 12 most pesticide ridden and the 15 with the least contaminates its ‘Dirty Dozen’ and ‘Clean 15’ lists. Other contaminated produce to watch out for are cucumber, grapes, lettuce, nectarines, peaches, nectarines, grapes, spinach and strawberries. Make sure you wash all these items very carefully before consuming.

Cleaner choices are Asparagus, aubergine, avocado, cabbage, kiwi and mango.
